Aliade Market in Gwer Local Government Area of Benue State recorded fresh price movements on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, with notable prices recorded for major food and agricultural commodities.

The latest market check provides a snapshot of prevailing prices for grains, legumes, tubers, fruits and other farm produce traded in the market.

Among the commodities monitored, soya beans sold at ₦100,000 per 50kg sack, while melon (egusi) was priced at ₦150,000 per 50kg sack.

Bene seed recorded one of the highest prices at ₦180,000 per 50kg sack, while guinea corn sold for ₦60,000 per 50kg bag.

Maize was priced at ₦52,000 per 50kg sack, while rice paddy sold at ₦65,000 per 50kg sack.

The groundnut market showed different price points, with fresh groundnut selling between ₦40,000 and ₦45,000 per bag, while dried groundnut ranged from ₦45,000 to ₦50,000 per bag.

Garri was recorded at ₦30,000 per 50kg bag, with both green and yellow varieties available.

Among tubers and fruits, sweet potato sold for ₦18,000 per bag, while oranges were priced at ₦15,000 per bag. New yam was reported at ₦1,200 per tuber, with five pieces selling for about ₦5,000.

Fresh Akpu was also recorded at ₦1,500 per big bag, according to the market check.
