Residents of Ondo community in Ugboju District of Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State, reportedly fled their homes on Tuesday morning after gunmen suspected to be armed herdsmen invaded the area, shooting sporadically and forcing villagers to seek safety.

OTUKPO, BENUE — Another community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State has reportedly come under attack, less than 48 hours after the deadly assault on Otukpo-Nobi community that left more than 18 people dead.

According to information available to Benue Info-pedia, the latest incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Ondo community, Ugboju District, where residents fled after gunmen suspected to be armed herdsmen reportedly invaded the area.

Witness accounts indicate that the attackers fired sporadically, creating panic and forcing residents to abandon their homes in search of safety. The full extent of casualties or property damage could not be independently verified as of the time of publication.

The reported attack has heightened fears among residents of Otukpo LGA, which is still mourning victims of the recent Otukpo-Nobi attack.
