The Benue State Youth Leader and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, Hon. Gbenda Terver, has distributed rice and other food items to selected youths drawn from the 23 Local Government Areas of Benue State during an event held in Makurdi.

Selected youths from across Benue State's 23 Local Government Areas gathered at the basketball court of Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, on Thursday for the first phase of a food distribution initiative organised by the Benue State Youth Leader, Hon. Gbenda Terver.

Gbenda, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, distributed bags of rice and other food condiments to beneficiaries.

Addressing participants, the youth leader said the initiative was designed to provide relief to young people while complementing the development programmes of the Benue State Government.

According to him, the current exercise represents the first phase of the programme, with additional beneficiaries expected to be reached in subsequent phases.

Gbenda commended Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration for what he described as ongoing human capital, infrastructure and development initiatives across the state.

He encouraged youths to remain peaceful, constructive and supportive of programmes aimed at the development of Benue State. During his remarks, he also urged support for Governor Alia ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The event concluded with the distribution of food items to beneficiaries and expressions of solidarity by participants.
