Residents of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area have appealed to federal and state authorities to take urgent action following the recent attack that claimed lives in the area. The appeal calls for a thorough investigation, justice for victims, and immediate humanitarian and security interventions.

Residents of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State have called for urgent government intervention following the recent attack that reportedly resulted in the loss of lives in affected communities.

In a statement circulating on social media, the residents urged the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, to publicly condemn the killings and encourage security agencies to carry out a comprehensive investigation leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

The appeal also called on Hyacinth Iormem Alia to visit the affected communities, expressing the view that communities experiencing violence deserve equal government attention, sympathy, and support.

Residents further appealed to the Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government to visit the affected areas, assess the damage firsthand, coordinate relief efforts for victims, and work closely with security agencies to restore peace and normalcy.

The statement also urged the Sultan of Sokoto, leaders of Miyetti Allah, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and other influential voices to publicly condemn the killings and encourage peaceful coexistence.

Security agencies—including the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps—were urged to intensify efforts to protect lives, investigate the incident thoroughly, and ensure justice is administered impartially.

The appeal emphasized that violence against innocent citizens should receive equal attention regardless of location or circumstance and stressed that justice must be fair, timely, and unbiased.
