The Executive Chairman of Kwande LGA and ALGON Chairman of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, has visited Bishop Murray Hospital, where he extended financial assistance to patients receiving treatment. The visit, which took place alongside the Chairman of Makurdi LGA, Hon. Keffi Joseph, focused on supporting vulnerable patients, particularly those battling snakebite complications.

The Executive Chairman of Kwande Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, on Wednesday paid a humanitarian visit to Bishop Murray Hospital.

He was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Makurdi LGA, Hon. Keffi Joseph, in what was described as a welfare-driven outreach to patients undergoing treatment.

During the visit, financial assistance was distributed to support medical care. According to details provided, ₦1 million was allocated to five patients being treated for snakebite-related conditions. Additional patients in the same ward reportedly received ₦200,000 each to support ongoing treatment.

The Chairman also settled discharge bills for three patients, enabling them to leave the hospital without further financial strain.

The intervention was framed as part of a broader commitment to compassionate governance and support for vulnerable residents facing medical emergencies.

Patients and caregivers at the facility expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely relief amid rising healthcare costs. Prayers and goodwill messages were offered in response to the intervention.
