MAKURDI, Benue State — Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School, Makurdi, has continued its impressive record in the RoyalBoom Mathematics Competition after Tsavbee Emmanuel Oryiman, an SS2D student, emerged winner of the Senior Category at the grand finale of the 2026 RoyalBoom Mathematics Competition.
The competition was held on Saturday, 25 July 2026, at Angus Fraser College, Makurdi, attracting participants from secondary schools across Benue State. The date and venue of the grand finale were publicly announced by the competition organisers.
According to information provided by the school, Tsavbee maintained an outstanding performance from the preliminary stage through to the grand finale, securing first place and extending Mount Saint Gabriel's winning streak in the competition's senior category.
If confirmed by the competition organisers' official results, Tsavbee's victory would mark the sixth consecutive Senior Category title won by Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School since the RoyalBoom Mathematics Competition was introduced in Benue State.
A Legacy of Academic Excellence
The school says its RoyalBoom success story began with Agada Vincent, who won the maiden edition of the competition before representing Benue State at national mathematics competitions.
He was succeeded by:
Shankyula Simeon Terkuma, winner of the second edition.
Martins Luther Sooter, winner of the third edition.
Yahaya Joseph Oche, winner of the fourth edition.
Ugboho Kpamor Callistus, winner of the fifth edition.
Tsavbee Emmanuel Oryiman, winner of the sixth edition in 2026.
According to the school, several of these former champions later represented Benue State in national competitions, including the MAN Competition, Cowbellpedia, Test Master Mathematics Competition, the 774 Competition and the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). Many are currently pursuing degrees in engineering and computing disciplines at Nigerian universities, with some maintaining First Class honours.
More Than a Winning Streak
Beyond the trophies, the school's record reflects a sustained investment in mathematics education, mentoring and academic development. Producing winners across six consecutive editions of the same competition suggests consistency in talent development rather than isolated success.
While Benue Info-pedia has not independently verified every historical achievement listed by the school, the available information points to one of the most consistent records in the history of the RoyalBoom Mathematics Competition in Benue State.
Looking Ahead
Tsavbee Emmanuel's victory adds another chapter to Mount Saint Gabriel's academic history and reinforces the importance of mathematics competitions in identifying and nurturing young talent.
As schools across Benue continue to promote excellence in science, technology and mathematics education, such competitions remain an important platform for discovering students capable of representing the state at national and international levels.
