President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to commission the Concentrate Plant of Bensono Fruit Processing Company Limited in Makurdi, Benue State, on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The facility is being presented as a strategic investment aimed at strengthening agro-processing, increasing value addition to agricultural produce, and supporting industrial development in the state.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday commission the Concentrate Plant of Bensono Fruit Processing Company Limited in Makurdi, a development expected to advance Benue State's agro-industrial ambitions and expand opportunities across the agricultural value chain.

The commissioning ceremony, according to a statement issued by the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the Industrial Layout, Makurdi.

BIPC described the project as a major investment designed to improve fruit processing capacity, encourage value addition to agricultural produce, create employment opportunities, and contribute to economic growth within the state and beyond.

The company said the facility aligns with the industrialisation agenda of the Benue State Government under Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, particularly efforts aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth through investments in agro-processing and manufacturing.

In the statement signed by the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, the concentrate plant was described as a significant milestone in Benue's drive to unlock the full value of its agricultural resources and strengthen its position as a destination for agribusiness investment.

Benue is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's leading agricultural states, producing a variety of fruits and crops. Stakeholders believe that expanding processing capacity could help reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access for farmers, and stimulate industrial activity.

Government officials, investors, development partners, members of the business community, media practitioners, and the general public have been invited to attend the commissioning ceremony.

The event is expected to attract participants from across Nigeria and highlight ongoing efforts to diversify the economy through agricultural value addition and industrial development.
