Three siblings travelling from Abuja to Benue State with the remains of their late mother have reportedly been kidnapped by suspected gunmen along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road.

The incident was first disclosed by citizen journalist Meddy Olotu in a video shared on social media on Saturday.

According to Olotu, the siblings were transporting their mother's remains to Iklenyi community in Okpokwu Local Government Area for burial when they allegedly encountered armed men along the highway.

He said the family experienced mechanical problems during the journey, leaving them stranded on the road until about 2:00 a.m. before continuing the trip.

According to Olotu, the suspected kidnappers later intercepted the vehicle between Ogobia and Otukpo and allegedly abducted the three siblings.

He further claimed that the assailants also took away the corpse of the deceased, describing the development as deeply disturbing.

Olotu urged Nigerians to exercise caution while travelling, particularly at night, citing worsening insecurity on several highways across the country.
As of the time of publication, the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies had not issued any official statement confirming the incident.

Benue Info-pedia could not independently verify the claims contained in the video, and the identities of the alleged victims remain unknown.

This report will be updated as additional verified information becomes available.
