Aliade Market in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State recorded fresh commodity prices on Thursday, June 25, 2026, reflecting prevailing market conditions across grains, legumes, processed food products, and fresh produce.

The latest market survey shows sesame (bene seed) and melon (egusi) maintaining their positions among the most valuable commodities, while staple crops such as maize, rice paddy, and guinea corn continue to attract significant trading activity.

Aliade Market, one of the major agricultural trading centers in Gwer East Local Government Area, has recorded fresh commodity prices that provide insight into current trading patterns and food market dynamics across parts of Benue State.

According to the latest market assessment conducted on Thursday, June 25, 2026, bene seed (sesame) emerged as the highest-priced commodity, selling for ₦160,000 per 50kg sack. Melon (egusi) followed closely at ₦150,000 per 50kg sack, reinforcing their status as premium-value agricultural commodities.

Soya beans also maintained strong value at ₦90,000 per 50kg sack, reflecting sustained demand from food processors, livestock feed producers, and industrial buyers.

Among staple grains, maize traded at ₦50,000 per 50kg sack, while guinea corn and rice paddy each sold for ₦60,000 per 50kg sack. White beans were priced at ₦60,000 per Bagco bag.
Fresh groundnut was sold at ₦65,000 per bag, making it one of the higher-valued food crops currently available in the market.

Processed cassava products displayed varied pricing. Garri sold for ₦25,000 per bag, yam flour for ₦30,000 per bag, and cassava flour for ₦10,000 per bag. A bag of akpu was sold at ₦3,000.

Fresh produce remained relatively affordable for consumers, with pineapples selling at ₦1,000 each, cucumbers at ₦300 each, and watermelons ranging between ₦200 and ₦500 depending on size.

The commodity prices highlight the strategic role of Aliade Market in agricultural commerce, serving farmers, traders, processors, and consumers from Gwer East and neighboring communities.

Market prices remain an important indicator of food affordability, farmer earnings, and broader economic conditions affecting rural households and agricultural value chains across Benue State.
