MAKURDI, BENUE STATE — Samuel Agwa, Benue State Coordinator of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has formally presented his letter of appointment to the Chairman of the Benue State Value Chain Steering Committee and Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Benjamin Ashaver.

The presentation marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration between IFAD and the Benue State Government in advancing agricultural development, food security and value-chain interventions across the state.

The engagement is expected to further support efforts aimed at improving agricultural productivity, strengthening farmers’ livelihoods and promoting sustainable food systems in Benue State.

Benue, widely regarded as Nigeria’s food basket, continues to seek strategic partnerships and development interventions capable of expanding opportunities for farmers and strengthening the state’s agricultural value chains.
